“Our board is excited to celebrate a new level of awards,” says co-chair James Terry, “where students from across the province and their programs are recognized as the future leaders in our industry. The reach and impact of TIP donations has expanded significantly.”

This year an exclusive invitation was extended to students recognized by BC Tourism program member deans, department heads and faculty for their academic standing and commitment to a career in the industry.  Most of the students selected have recently completed their programs or are in the process of graduating.  Representing four colleges and one university from British Columbia the students were selected because they have what it takes: drive, passion, industry experience and the grades to back it up.

We are thrilled to be offering our support and encouragement to this year’s award recipients:

  • Katherine MacRae, Tourism Management, Royal Roads University
  • Chelsey Stickney, Tourism and Hospitality Management Diploma, North Island College
  • Cassidy Janzen, Destination Marketing, Eton College
  • Nicole Chan, Hospitality Management, Canadian Tourism College
  • Jess Lindsay, Hospitality and Resort Business Management, Canadian Tourism College
